You are humbly invited to participate in the Wiki Loves Folklore 2022 an international photography contest organized on Wikimedia Commons to document folklore and intangible cultural heritage from different regions, including, folk creative activities and many more. It is held every year from the 1st till the 28th of February.
You can help in enriching the folklore documentation on Commons from your region by taking photos, audios, videos, and submitting them in this commons contest.
You can also organize a local contest in your country and support us in translating the project pages to help us spread the word in your native language.

The Wikimedia Education newsletter is a monthly newsletter that collects articles written by community members using Wikimedia projects in education around the world, and it is published by the EWOC Newsletter team in collaboration with the Education team. These stories can bring you new ideas to try, valuable insights about the success and challenges of our community members in running education programs in their context.
If your affiliate/language project is developing its own education initiatives, please remember to take advantage of this newsletter to publish your stories with the wider movement that shares your passion for education. You can submit newsletter articles in your own language or submit bilingual articles for the education newsletter. For the month of January the deadline to submit articles is on the 20th January. In diesem Rundschreiben wird über zwei wesentliche Entwicklungen der Arbeitsgruppe Bearbeitung berichtet:
- Die Arbeitsgruppe Bearbeitung wird das Hinzufügen von Neuerungen zum Diskussionsseitenprojekt abschließen und zum Einsatz bringen.
- Sie fängt das neue Projekt Änderungsprüfung an.
Diskussionsseitenprojekt
Die Arbeitsgruppe Bearbeitung ist fast mit der ersten Phase des Diskussionsseitenprojektes abgeschlossen. Fast alle der technischen Ergänzungen sind jetzt im Beta Feature für Diskussions-Werkzeuge verfügbar.
Es werden Informationen zur Diskussionsdynamik dargestellt, wie zum Beispiel wann der letzte Beitrag verfasst wurde. Bald wird es eine neue „Temu přidać“ Schaltfläche geben. Es wird möglich sein, diese Entwicklungen in den Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-editing-discussion abzuschalten. Bitte teile der Arbeitsgruppe Deine Meinung mit.
Ein A/B-Test für Diskussions-Werkzeuge auf der Seite für mobile Endgeräte wurde durchgeführt. Bearbeiter waren erfolgreicher mit Diskussions-Werkzeuge. Die AG Bearbeitung schaltet diese technischen Ergänzungen für alle Bearbeiter, die ein mobiles Endgerät benutzen, frei.
Neues Projekt: Änderungsprüfung
Die Arbeitsgruppe Bearbeitung fängt ein Projekt zur Unterstützung neuer Wikipediaautoren an. Es soll Menschen bei der Feststellung gewisser Probleme unterstützen, bevor sie auf „Změny wozjewić“ klicken. Das erste Werkzeug wird Leute ermutigen, Einzelnachweise zu liefern wenn sie neue Inhalte hinzufügen. Bitte beobachte diese Seite für weitere Informationen. Migration to Parsoid
[wobdźěłać]Hello everyone! I am glad to inform you that as the next step in the Parser Unification project, Parsoid will soon be turned on as the default article renderer on your Wiktionary. We are gradually increasing the number of wikis using Parsoid, with the intention of making it the default wikitext parser for MediaWiki's next long-term support release. This will make our wikis more reliable and consistent for editors, readers, and tools to use, as well as making the development of future wikitext features easier.
If this transition disrupts your workflow, don’t worry! You can still opt out through a user preference or turn Parsoid off on the current page using the Tools submenu, as described in the Extension:ParserMigration documentation.
There is more information about our roll-out strategy available, including the testing done before we turn on Parsoid for a new wiki.

Wikifunctions will be deployed on your wiki on August 27

Hi all, we want to let you know that Wikifunctions is coming to your project soon! When enabled, you will be able to call functions from your project, and integrate them in your articles.
A function is something that takes one or more inputs and transforms them into a desired output. Think of adding up two numbers, or converting miles into metres, or calculating how much time has passed since an event, or declining a word into a case. This is usually done with templates that are complicated to create or to import. With Wikifunctions, you will be able to do this with just a couple of clicks!
Please check out these tutorials for more details. You’re also invited to create functions that you find useful, or ask for help from the Wikifunctions community.
We would like to invite you to contribute to Wikifunctions, by translating the existing functions labels into your language, so that more users in your community can more easily reuse them on the project. You can also translate the messages for the Wikifunctions interface on TranslateWiki (here for VisualEditor messages, and here for the Wikifunctions interface proper).

Hilf uns, den Namen des neuen Projekts der Abstrakten Wikipedia zu bestimmen
[wobdźěłać]Hallo! Bitte hilf mit, einen Namen für das neue Wiki-Projekt der Abstrakten Wikipedia zu finden. Dieses Projekt wird ein Wiki sein, das es Benutzern ermöglicht, Funktionen aus Wikifunctions und Daten aus Wikidata zu kombinieren, um Sätze in natürlicher Sprache in allen unterstützten Sprachen zu generieren. Diese Sätze können dann von jeder Wikipedia (oder anderswo) verwendet werden.
Es wird zwei Abstimmungsrunden geben, denen jeweils eine rechtliche Überprüfung der Kandidaten folgt. Die Abstimmungen beginnen am 20. Oktober und 17. November 2025. Unser Ziel ist es, Mitte Dezember 2025 einen endgültigen Projektnamen auszuwählen. Wenn du teilnehmen möchtest, dann erfahre mehr im Meta-Wiki und stimme jetzt ab. Wulki dźak!
